Tweet Adder Version 3.0

With the release of Tweet Adder version 3.0, an entirely new interface replaced the old, and countless improvements were made to the software. This is an up-to-date review of the latest version, 3.0. I wouldn't bother looking for reviews of the earlier version, you don't need to understand it to use the latest one, you need only know that Tweet Adder handled the typical operations you'd expect, following, unfollowing, DMs etc...But the new version of Tweet Adder is far more powerful, here's a review of what it can do...

No use of API

A minor problem with the earlier versions of Twitter was that they used up API, the amount of updates each user can make per hour. With the release of Tweet Adder version 3.0, no API is used, and this is very useful for people that carry out a lot of activities very often, especially those like myself that use Tweet Adder in conjunction with Twitter clients like TweetDeck open with several timelines showing at once, each using up a little API.

Multiple client management in one

Whereas with the earlier version of Tweet Adder, each Twitter client had to be managed by a separate window, now one Tweet Adder window will manage all your accounts as shown above. The screen pictured here is completely new, and clearly lays out the most important details of all accounts being managed. The icons simply light green for ON, red for OFF regarding whether or not the tasks are being automated, and can be changed very quickly and easily.

Automation

Frankly, the Tweet Adder software is so effective that most of the time I only maximise the window a couple of times a day to check on the progress, and even that is unnecessary, I'm just keeping an eye for any problems because it's a new release. So far I haven't had any problems, but if you do, you can quickly send a support email from within the program options, they tend to respond within 24 hours from my experience.

Another major change with Tweet adder 3.0  is a strong encouragement to leave the software on automation rather than use the manual options. All automated options are carried out at a maximum speed of 1 per minute, so if you stick with these, you will never get banned for following too quickly, and again, the follow number limits are easily set so you won't get banned for following too many either.

With Tweet Adder 3.0, you can carry out manual operations such as following and unfollowing as fast as 1 per second, but be aware that there will rarely be need for this extra speed and it is risky to use that level of aggressive following, unfollowing or messaging. Be weary of 'follow churn', Twitter's term for quickly following and unfollowing users, this will get you suspended.

Yet the genius of Tweet Adder is that if you leave it on for at least 7-8 hours a day, you'll have enough time to carry out all the necessary operations in automated mode without raising any red flags with Twitter, and without using up much system resources at all. There's really no need to use manual mode at all, this software does it all in the background for you!

More new features

They've added a really useful new feature to follow any Twitter list, so if you can find people that list well in your niche, this can be a gold mine.

Tweet Adder also has a retweets section where you can add usernames to retweet, and set what keywords in their tweets to search for, and how often to retweet their material. I've not seen anything like this from a Twitter client before, it's really easy to use and it works.

You can also now add RSS feeds to your timeline, so no need to use another Twitter tool to carry this out.

The powerful automated @reply feature

There's also the ability to automatically @reply anyone that @mentions you. One tweet will be selected at random from those that you setup, and you can set a maximum number of them to send per day.

This is an incredibly useful feature if you live a busy life, and don't have time to @reply everyone that contact you. Remember that everyone that comes to your page will see this activity on your timeline, which looks a lot better to potential buyers than an account that looks inactive! If you use this, take a little time to add at least 15 or so different messages, using a variety of URLs and different approaches.

I want to start this review with a criticism of other such reviews I found when searching for a decent Twitter client that could auto-tweet, follow back etc...So many of these reviews simply describe the features of Tweet Adder, which anyone could easily find here on the Tweet Adder website, rather than discussing ways to use the settings. It's boring and it's a waste of web space! I'm going to discuss what can't be found on the Tweet Adder site, namely: how not to get suspended, and a comparison of the software with my previous Twitter client.

How to avoid being suspended with Tweet Adder

The software has very specific settings for all its functions. So for example, you can set the number of seconds delay between sending out messages, follows, follow backs or unfollows. It also offers a lot of statistics about your twitter campaign that can help you decide on what needs to be changed about it to better fit the goals of your campaign, whether your a social networker, e-marketer, promoter, or whomever! I'm going to discuss configuring it to avoid suspension.

A lot of people complain that Tweet Adder can get your account suspended easier than other software, but every time I hear about this, it becomes apparent that the person just hasn't configured it to stick to the rules. For whatever reason, one of the default settings is a following/follower ratio of 1.5: 1, which is fine for the first 2000 people you follow. After this the twitter rules change and you need to change this ratio to 1.1: 1. (some people say it's safer to use 1.08: 1, but I've never had a problem with 1.1: 1). Being able to set this ratio is an incredibly useful feature of the software, just be sure to change that ratio!

Secondly, a lot of people get suspended for 'aggressive following'. The problem is that no-one really knows what qualifies as 'aggressive'. The general rule seems to be don't auto-follow/follow back more than 1 person per minute and you'll be fine. In truth, I'm sure you could get away with following faster than this, but why risk it? This is the main reason people using Tweet Adder get their accounts suspended, the software will let you follow as fast as 1 per second!

Twitter's official follow limit is 1000 a day, but I started an account to test this and got it suspended for following 960 in one day, so that limit is flexibile. Personally I tell Tweet Adder to follow a maximum of 550 a day plus a maximum 200 followbacks, and I haven't had any problems with that total of 750.

Also, be aware that people get banned for mass following and unfollowing very quickly, and while again, it seems to be a grey area, Tweet Adder allows you to set a number of days before you unfollow. If you set this to 2 to 3 days you should be absolutely fine, and it's a very useful feature that you can set and forget.

Tweet Adder vs. Tweet Tank

I started off in the Twitterverse using Tweet Tank as my client, it also had a lot of positive reviews, but frankly I should have done more research, because Tweet Adder is better than it in nearly every way, in these ways in fact:

Firstly, Tweet Adder has a lot more statistics, and with the 'history' button you can check details about follows sent, unfollows, messages sent and updates. Tweet Tank's limited stats weren't even accurate a lot of the time. My favourite stats are those of people to follow back and unfollow, because it's so satisfying when nearly every person I'm following is a 'friend', and I'm justified to have 'I follow back' in my bio.

Secondly, Tweet Adder has far more specific settings. Tweet Tank will only let you adjust it's settings by minutes, rather than seconds.

Thirdly, Tweet Tank had a tendency to send the same DMs to the same people, which will get you put on spam lists, and if enough people do this, you'll get your account suspended. Tweet Adder removes people from the message list after sending them a DM, and only adds them again when every follower has been sent one, so no repeats.

Fourthly, unlike Tweet Tank, Tweet Adder will save the user IDs of people you ask it to follow across sessions. It's never caused a problem for me reloading these lists when I re-open it.

Fifthly, unlike Tweet Tank, Tweet Adder can automate nearly every task for you with the settings you assign it! You just open the software, and off it goes, following, following back, unfollowing and DMing all at once if you wish. This is a real time saver, and a great way to manage multiple accounts.

Conclusion

I’ve been in the Twitter game a while now, and have used Tweet Tank, Social Oompth, and Hummingbird before arriving at Tweet Adder, and I never went back. Here's my main Tweet Adder review for the new version Tweet Adder 3.0!

Tweet Adder are still releasing very regular updates for their software, and it's very straight forward to update, and the update time is very fast. They are really listening to their users and considering new features to add to their software, as they did with adding the RSS system, the retweet users section etc...

They've fairly recently added Linux functionality, so if that's your operating system of choice, you're taken care of now. I had a look at a thread about this on the forum and it seems that Tweet Adder 3.0 is working very well for the Linux operating system at the moment.

They've also fixed the only minor bug that I was having with Tweet Adder 3.0, a login time delay. It was only for a couple of minutes, but still slightly annoying. Thankfully that's a thing of the past now.

Here's some information about a typical Tweet Adder 3.0 update, they are really pushing the friend adder software forward:

- Improved support for various RSS feeds
- Added ability to View a users Twitter Profile from the search results screen (via right click menu)
- Added ability to View a users Twitter Profile from the following, followers and users to follow screens (via right click menu)
- Added ability to clear Direct Message history

Give Tweet Adder a go, it's still one of the best Twitter marketing tools on the market, and one of the most established!
